I’ve been using Virb more and more. Its nice having total creative control over your page. It’s comparable to Myspace but not crowded. A lot of major bands are on there and I like the player a lot better than Myspace player. You can control CSS and HTML to stylize you profile. And it seems as though there are more creative people that you can communicate with instead of the usual Tila Taquila trying to make as many friends as possible. Check it out and I’m not sure if you still need an invite or not, but if you do I have some probably.

Can’t decide if it’s the weather or my age, but the length of time it takes for my legs [to] fall asleep while sitting on the toilet gets shorter and shorter each day.Chris Glass

For those who have visited doshdosh.com know what I’m talking about. The articles are relevant and informative but the anime girls creep me out. The author writes articles about making money through advertising and through blogging with tips and tricks and all that good stuff, but the guy is an anime creeper I guess. Ok, Maki the author of this site admits to loving anime in his ‘about’ section but that doesn’t mean I’m not weirded out by this kiddy anime thumbnails. I would love this site if it wasn’t for that. And this isn’t new to me because I remember a month or two before I was creeped out from this site and never went back to it until today because I forgot was Dashdash was…. and the BAM! creeper-ville.

Check out the awesome PicLens Firefox add-on. Add it to the Firefox browser then go to Google and search for an image then start PicLens and watch the magic happen. I swear I’ve seem a commercial with this effect to it, but it totally rad! It shows thumbnails my 3 high and forever long!!!!… or until the last page of the search. But you can look through all the images quickly and in a cool virtual matrix-ish page.

It currently works with:

* Flickr, Smugmug, DeviantArt, Photobucket, Picasa
* Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Hi5, Friendster
* Image search on Google, Yahoo, Ask, Live, and AOL
* A growing number of Media RSS-enabled web sites

I’m going to go play with it more!

Hey just would like to congratulate the pownce team on officially going public and opening to all. If you don’t know what pownce is; its a social network but more like Twitter than myspace or facebook. You post what you’re up to that day, post files, music, and even movies. You can post just to a certain group or post public for everyone to see. Go to Pownce.com, join and become my friend. I want to get webcomic/comic artist/writers in a group and chat and swap ideas around.

COLORS. yes, picking out a color scheme is oh so difficult. I’ve been using my resources kuler and colourlovers, but its still hard. I can code, look for the elements I want online and manipulate pictures. But as elementary as picking a color schemes sounds it is so hard. Its not just the plan colors; its also the gradient… the borders… the tints… the matching with the logo. Its really driving my nuts. Bah. I think I should have failed elementary school.

I was up way late last night designing the website for InsignificantPress.com. This is very difficult considering the colors in the logo, if you don’t know what I’m talking about just look at the post about 5 days ago. Its like a creamsicle and I have to match that in the website. CRAZY! but its all good because I just started watching Chuck, the NBC show, on Hulu. That the video-on-demand beta site owned by NBC. It an awesome site and I like the idea and how it works. I’ve read a lot of articles bashing the site but its better that what NBC has at NBC.com. If you can get an invite from Hulu I would definitely try it. Sorry I don’t have any invites to give out.

But the show Chuck is about this computer repair dude at a place called Buy More (Best Buy) and he’s like a geek squad guy. But one day he gets an email from his former Stanford roommate who is now a dead CIA agent and the email had very important government information that somehow stuck into Chuck’s head. So he’s kind of like a walking hard drive with all the information because I think the email was deleted and the computer that it was on was destroyed. So two CIA agents are acting like civilians trying to protect him. But of course they go on adventures and the episode I’m on he’s finally an agent. Also, there’s this love story between he and one of the CIA agents. Its pretty fun and I’m excited to get more work done and watch more Chuck.

The Eden Family is organization under the Creative Commons license that has six resourceful websites to visit.

One is the Flash Den where you can Buy/Sell royalty free flash designs. Its actually really fun to look through even if you’re not planning on buying anything.

Second is the Freelance Switch, this site is very resourceful for the web freelancer out there. It has amazing articles, job postings and tips.

Third is the Faveup site, this is a gallery of inspirational websites to look at. I look at this site quit often and am usually truly inspired. It has Logos, business cards, CSS sites, and flash sites.

Fourth, is for the Photoshoper. PSDTuts is a site that offers free tutorials for actual things you would want to create. The tutorial comes with PSD packets to use to follow along. Its very easy to follow along and the finished product is pretty cool.

Fifth is LinkGuys, is a resource of links for a number of topics. I’ll admit to not really using this site, but maybe one day I’ll use one of the resources.

Last but not least.  Miiingle is the advertising hub for the Eden family websites. Its $3,000 a month but you’re reaching over a millions viewers a month. Its not just your typical advertising either, if its the creative folks that you may be wanting to reach then this is the way to go.

I’ll admit to spending hours looking at these sites and actually learning something useful unlike most sites I spend my days numbly looking at (i.e. Digg.com, Engadget)
